Italy Youth Safeguarding: 300 Volunteers Deliver 500,000 “Truth About Drugs” Booklets

MILAN — 12 Feb. 2026 — Some 300 volunteers have been mobilised since January across Italy to support a drug-prevention information drive, circulating information resources titled “The Truth About Drugs”. According to organisers that the distribution has already surpassed 500,000 booklets, with Milan at the forefront and wider participation growing.

The European Office of the Church of Scientology is among those supporting the campaign in the context of its support for prevention and youth safeguarding work inspired by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology. The news eurovita campaign focuses on facts about substances and the physical and mental-health consequences associated with use.

The organisers further point to sports-community involvement. They say more than 100 athletes connected to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics have signed the Foundation for a Drug-Free World’s Honorary Register, signalling support for youth-focused prevention messaging. In the organisers’ view, sport offers a credible setting for prevention messaging because it is associated with health, focus and long-term wellbeing.

Ivan Arjona, the Church of Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, the Council of Europe and the UN, said: “Across Europe, youth safeguarding is both a public-health goal and a civic responsibility. Clear, verified information supports informed choice and autonomy, and it helps communities limit the conditions in which exploitation can take root.”
